There Used To Be Waves

You may have heard the expression "there is no surf in Nelson". As of late this comment has actually rung rather true and has left the wanting desperate and heartbroken.
With nothing forecast in the future and nothing even remotely hinting of any form of swell in the next 10 days it may infact be time to succumb to the fact that "there are no waves in Nelson".
Back in the day breaks such as Snapper Point, Cable Bay and Rabbit Island would break quite frequently but since the release of long range swell predictions the god of surf "Huey" has scoffed at such predictions and cursed our poor surf-less shores.

Time to spread those gingery wings and fly like an eagle to either coast with both coasts looking promising over the next few days. A massive 4metre ,18 to 20 second period mega swell is due to hit the west coast friday meaning local knoweledge will be key.
Over eastside the Blenheim boys are somewhat tight-lipped about conditions which poses some food for thought whilst the entire surfing population of Christchurch hopes to invade Kaikoura for the Easter Weekend.

However it unfolds , Have a Great Easter.
